Info Post
District police have placed signs along 5th and I Streets. They read, "Warning, Prostitution Free Zone."

In a report from DC's television station WUSA channel 9, DC police are trying to keep prostitutes off of some of the streets during the inauguration ceremonies. How have they done this? By posting "Prostitution Free Zone" signs along the streets.

I suppose the intent is good: keep unsuspecting inaugural attendees from accidentally getting propositioned by prostitutes in one of the country's most crime-ridden cities. But you have to wonder at the effectiveness and dedication of city officials to stop illegal practices.

If city officials really wanted to do some good at diminishing prostitution in Washington, they should post "Prostitution Free Zone" signs around the Capitol Building. Maybe our elected congressional hookers would be shamed into giving up their pandering ways and find honest work for a living. And while they're at it, how about a couple of signs at the podium during the inauguration?
